I’m hosting a Get Out of Debt Party on Thursday evening. I’ve never done anything like this before and I’m very excited about it. Usually, when I talk to someone about the Money Merge Account program from United First Financial, I either speak with them face to face in their home or show them the program on a web meeting. I’ve never had all my friends over to my house to show them how to get out of debt. I’m pretty excited about the party.
My husband left town for the week to meet his oldest son who’s coming back from Iraq this week. I’m a little nervous about holding things together on my own for this. I keep wondering how the kids will behave and whether I’m going to be able to juggle all the things I need to do by myself. He is such a support for me and I sometimes forget how much I depend on him.
For instance, I was going to have him watch the kids for the concert that I’m playing at on Wednesday night. I was also planning on him helping keep the kids quiet for my evening web meetings. I know that welcoming your son home from war is a once in a lifetime experience and I’m glad he was able to go. I just miss him and hope everything will go well for all of us.
Michael,
Thanks for warning me not to change to a winter scene when it snows. Your blog is great, too, by the way.
Amy,
Waht a great idea and I love your blog. During the winter I will stare at your blog header longing for days gone past. It gets very cold and white where I live.
All the best to you.

Hi Amy,
Good luck with your party! I’m supposed to have one this evening. Originally, I called it a Firestarter Party, but had to explain too many times what exactly that was. So, I borrowed your idea for the title. I’m excited to have my neighbor, family, and a few friends over!
You will do just fine! Just remember that you are gathering to have a good time. There is no need to get nervous! You are sharing something very real with them! I know I have to keep reminding myself that this is real…it is something that is going to help them…I’m not trying to sell them something!
Anyway…good luck on Thursday!

Diane,
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I’m sure things will go fine. I was just feeling a little overwhelmed when I wrote this. I actually tested out a cheesecake recipe (who doesn’t want to have extra cheesecake around) and I found a really good one on the back of the graham cracker crumb box. I might have to test it again just to be sure…you know, just one more taste. I think that’s really why I’m doing this, so I can make cheesecake. But seriously, if I can help some of my friends to get out of debt, I will feel so good. I’ve been helping lots of people, but I kind of left out my friends.
Everything will go just fine Amy. If you can do this business…. you can multi-task a Get Out of Debt party! The blessing of what you are doing is showing people how to get out of debt in record time…. not having perfect hourderves… or perfect this or that.
All good things come to you,
Diane Kay
